Tape resist art is a fun and unique way to make all sorts of artwork. It is one of my favorite art projects because children of all ages can participate in this activity and actually create a beautiful and colorful masterpiece.
This week, we thought of sharing with you some tape resist art projects you can share with your kids. We bet they’ll love it!
Tape resist painting
Painting is a fun activity, but if you add in some tape resist – it’s just downright awesome.
What you need:
Paint (you can use watercolors, acrylics or tempera paint)
Paper
Blue painter’s tape
Paintbrush
Instructions:
Lay down some newspapers over your workspace.
Use your tape to create a pattern on the paper. Craft tape or masking tape should work in place of painter’s paint.
Once the tape design is finished, you can start painting. You may paint over the entire design or cover the paper with paint.
Allow the paint to dry completely.
Once the paint has dried, gently pull the tape off to reveal the design.
Stand back and admire your artwork.
Scribble card
This is a great activity for kids who love to color or scribble. Plus, it makes a great and inexpensive card for family and friends. You can use the person’s initials as the main design of the card.
What you need:
Paper
Crayons
Blue painter’s tape
scissors
Instructions:
Cut or fold the paper to the size you want.
Tape the sides of the paper to the table to keep it from moving.
Start by cutting pieces of painter’s tape and place them on a blank paper until you form the desired letters, numbers or shapes.
Encourage your child to scribble and scribble until the page is covered.
Peel off the tape to reveal the design.
